Street dance is a collective name for different dance styles that have developed in social contexts e.g in clubs, streets and in parks. The origin is the late 1960s New York where breaking, hiphop and other styles such as popping and locking have emerged. Attitude and emotion have been given a significant role in street dance. Today it is common for the style(s) to be used in large events such as Eurovision and various music videos.
